Mogilev Science Festival to highlight digital technologies

The 5th Mogilev Science Festival will gather young scientists in the Belarusian-Russian University on 20-22 February, the university informed BelTA.

The festival has become an important social event in Mogilev’s life and traditionally gathers guests from different countries: students of high schools, lyceums, colleges, and universities, post graduate students, school and university teachers who participate in science and technology youth initiatives.

During the event, young scientists will present their projects and developments, take part in academic competitions and contests, exhibitions, roundtable discussions, open lectures on the problems and achievements of modern science and technology. “We intend to shine focus on digital technologies. The IT in Belarus has become one of the most rapidly developing industries. Digital technologies are penetrating all spheres of the life of the society. This is why a lot of lectures and presentations from top specialists will address this topic,” the organizers of the festival noted.

The science festival aims to raise school and university students’ interest in science and to help them choose future careers. The event also intends to improve the image of science and treaching professions, raise awareness about modern scientific knowledge and achievements in engineering and information technologies.

The Belarusian-Russian University has been chosen to host Mogilev Science Festival because it is a big regional science and education center and aims to apply all projects and developments of its staff and students in practice. The festival is a kind of a Doors Open Day for the university where it presents its achievements.

The festival was founded by the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee and the Belarusian-Russian University.
